August 12, 2026, a rare alignment. Up to 97% of the light will be covered, just minutes before the horizon takes it. A brief shift in the rhythm of the day, softer light, longer shadows, a landscape that feels almost suspended. And where you are… will make all the difference. Barrio Fuente lies between desert and mountains, with open horizons and clear skies, an ideal setting to witness this rare moment.
For this occasion, we open a limited Eclipse Stay August 11 – 14, A small group, staying together in an authentic environment, with private rooms available for couples and solo guests across three houses.
Days unfolding slowly, shared meals, quiet walks, long evenings under the stars. On the 12th, we move towards a carefully chosen spot nearby, where the horizon opens wide, to watch the light fade, together. No spectacle, no crowds. Just place, sky, and timing. Afterwards, for those who wish, we stay a little longer under the night sky to watch the shooting stars. Places are limited. We'd be happy to send you the full programme and details.
Barrio Fuente Summer Film School
An immersive film programme: one short film, a shared creative process, set in the cinematic landscapes of Almería.
During this six-day intensive course in short filmmaking, guided by professional filmmakers, participants take part in the creation of a short film, covering all key aspects of the filmmaking process. The film is edited and screened on the final day. Participants receive a private link to the finished film, including credits, along with a certificate of completion.

Participation fee: €1.200 per person.

Photography Workshop
Photography in rural Andalusia
Guided by photographer Oscar Seykens, this one-week workshop is dedicated to attentive looking & working with landscape, light and narrative in the rural surroundings of Andalusia.
We will explore beautiful and characteristic locations in and around the village, observing how different light situations shape atmosphere and story throughout the day.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own camera. Working with a smartphone is also fully welcome. The focus of the workshop lies in seeing, composition and understanding light, rather than equipment. The workshop combines practical assignments, collective review sessions and individual guidance.

Documentary Filmmaking Workshop
An immersive documentary film workshop: creating one short documentary based on local subjects, through a shared creative process, set in a region shaped by stories and change.
During this five-day intensive course in documentary filmmaking, guided by professional filmmakers, participants take part in the research, writing, and production process, covering all key aspects of documentary filmmaking.
The film is edited and screened on the final day. Participants receive a private link to the finished film, including credits, along with a certificate of completion.dates:
