Barrio Fuente is located close to the town of Sorbas, with the desert landscapes of Tabernas just beyond, known for their iconic Western film studios. We are in the province of Almería with its clear and distinctive light. The Mediterranean Sea and the unspoiled natural park of Cabo de Gata are just a 40-minute drive away. Our barrio is tucked away at the edge of a small white village, where only a handful of people live in quiet rhythm with the land. The weekly market, shops, public swimming pool and local bars of Sorbas are just 6 kilometres away..

Cortijo Bella Durmiente

A 120-year-old rural cottage in the land of light.

Casa BD sits on the edge of Barrio Fuente, with open views across the unspoiled landscape. The house and its surroundings invite you into a simple and authentic Spanish campo experience.

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the dry riverbed, where wild goats and birds regularly pass by. Listen to the sound of the shepherd and his flock, their bells echoing through the valley.

The house offers a private terrace at the back and a garden at the front, with both sun and shade throughout the day.

Casa BD has two bedrooms with double beds, one small bedroom with a single bed, and one bathroom.

Casa Fuente

Casa Fuente is the central house of the barrio, facing the small plaza that forms the heart of Barrio Fuente — a natural meeting place for groups and shared moments. With its high ceilings and large fireplace on the ground floor, it is the most stately house in the barrio.

Upstairs, the house features a second fireplace and access to a roof terrace. Casa Fuente is used as the central hub during workshops and group stays, where meals are prepared and shared, and where people naturally come together.

For individual stays, the ground floor of Casa Fuente is available, offering two bedrooms with double beds, a spacious kitchen, and one bathroom.

When hosting larger groups, the upper floor is included, adding two en-suite bedrooms and an additional bedroom with two single beds..

Casa Fuente Guest room

Travelling solo and don’t need a full house? You’re welcome to stay in our guest room and join us for meals, if you wish. The room includes a fireplace, access to a private roof terrace, and use of a shared bathroom with shower.

Casa Carline

Casa Carline is a tastefully renovated house with a sheltered front garden and a private patio. It is available for larger groups taking part in Barrio Fuente activities, or when additional accommodation is needed.

The house offers two bedrooms with double beds and one bedroom with two single beds, as well as two bathrooms with showers.

Our rates vary depending on season, length of stay, and whether the house is booked for individual use or as part of a group stay or workshop. Below you’ll find an indication of our starting rates.

Barrio Fuente is not a hotel, but a living place. We work with a small number of guests and adapt each stay to the rhythm of the place and the people who come.
