Eclipse 2027

August 2, 2027 — a rare alignment. A total solar eclipse will cross southern Almería. Here at Barrio Fuente, more than 99% of the Sun will be covered, while just a short distance to the south lies the path of totality where the Moon will completely obscure the Sun and daylight will briefly disappear. A sudden shift in the rhythm of the day: the light fading, the temperature dropping, and for a few extraordinary moments, the landscape falling into darkness. And where you are… will make all the difference.

Barrio Fuente lies between desert and mountains, under the famously clear skies of Almería, an ideal base from which to experience this rare event. For this occasion, we open a limited Eclipse Stay. A small group, staying together in our authentic environment, with private rooms available for couples and solo guests across our restored village houses. Days unfolding slowly, shared meals, quiet walks and long evenings under the stars. On eclipse morning, we travel together to a carefully selected viewing spot nearby, inside the path of totality — a quiet, secluded place away from the main viewing areas. There, we gather for a special Solar Breakfast as the eclipse unfolds, culminating in the moment the Sun disappears completely behind the Moon. Places will be limited.
